Position Description
A Maintenance Technician troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and other equipment, often in an industrial or setting. This can include performing a wide range of duties like welding, plumbing, and HVAC repair, and they typically need a high school diploma or GED as a basic requirement. Welding and electrical experience/understanding is needed but a degree or certification is not necessary but considered a plus.
- Repair and troubleshoot: Respond to service requests, diagnose issues with machinery, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Preventative maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and scheduled maintenance on equipment and facility systems to prevent future problems and minimize downtime.
- System upkeep: Maintain and repair systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, which can include tasks like replacing light bulbs, fixing circuits, or inspecting fire alarms.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure all maintenance work meets safety regulations and industry standards and maintains accurate logs of all activities.
- Collaboration: Work with other maintenance staff, other departments, and external contractors to solve problems and complete projects.
