Position Description
Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing, staging,
and shipping customer orders. This role includes operating a forklift, managing
freight logistics, and supporting the packaging department to ensure smooth
production flow.
Responsibilities:
- Use a
computer to get freight quotes and coordinate shipments.
- Palletize
orders based on packing slips and wrap pallets using the machine wrapper.
- Label,
stage, and prepare pallets for pickup.
- Contact
freight companies to schedule pickups and load trucks with a forklift.
- Verify
that the correct pallets are loaded on the correct trucks.
- Support
the packaging team by providing boxes and mats needed for orders.
- Maintain
organization and accuracy in the shipping area.
Requirements:
- Forklift
experience required.
- Basic
computer and communication skills.
- Attention
to detail and ability to follow shipping paperwork accurately.
- Reliable,
organized, and able to multitask.
- Shipping
or warehouse experience preferred.
