Position Overview
The role autonomously performs complex ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages under the supervision of qualified physicians. This involves producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Confirm imaging orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Review patient history and supporting clinical data to ensure medical necessity.
- Communicate with ordering physicians if additional clinical justification is needed.
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in inpatient, outpatient, portable, and operating room (O.R.) settings.
- Exercise independent judgment in interpreting and analyzing ultrasound images.
- Provide a preliminary technical impression of findings to the physician.
