Associate Drafter

Role Summary

Talent Groups is partnering with a design to manufacturing organization specializing in customized millwork and casework solutions. This role is responsible for producing accurate 2D layout drawings for submittals, coordination, and installation using AutoCAD. You will convert architectural plans into standardized layouts while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

This position offers a growth path into a Project Engineer or Engineering role.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D layout drawings in AutoCAD LT

• Convert architectural plans into layouts, elevations, and plan views

• Interpret drawings, dimensions, and site constraints

• Apply drafting standards, layers, and naming conventions

• Revise drawings based on feedback, redlines, and field updates

• Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to resolve discrepancies

• Maintain organized CAD files and revision history

• Ensure drawing packages are complete and delivered on schedule

• Perform quality checks for accuracy, scale, and completeness

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in drafting or design

• 1 to 3 years of experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT

• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred

• Exposure to SolidWorks

• Experience with millwork, casework, manufacturing, or installation drawings

• Familiarity with submittal and approval workflows

• Basic knowledge of construction or installation practices

• Experience in a project driven manufacturing environment
