Configuration Management Service Analyst Sr.

Job Type: Contract (12 months)
Job Summary
The Configuration Management Service Analyst Sr. is responsible for managing and optimizing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure data accuracy and support IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. This role focuses on implementing and enhancing Discovery and Service Mapping, maintaining data integrity through audits and validation, and developing dashboards and reports to monitor CMDB health.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ITSM practices, CMDB data modeling, and automation, along with the ability to collaborate across teams and provide technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity
- Drive implementation and optimization of Discovery, Service Mapping, and automation tools
- Conduct CMDB audits, data certification, and validation to identify and resolve data quality issues
- Design and develop dashboards and reports to track KPIs and support data-driven decisions
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within configuration management
- Collaborate with DevOps, Configuration Item (CI) Owners, Solution Architects, Cybersecurity, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate CMDB population
- Align CMDB processes with ITIL best practices
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts
- Manage CMDB backlog prioritization and perform configuration and development tasks

Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Configuration Management or related domain
- Proven experience working with CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping
- Strong understanding of ITSM frameworks (ITIL preferred)
- Advanced SQL skills for data analysis and reporting
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve workflows and operational efficiency
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Preferred Certifications
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or equivalent ITSM/ITOM certification
