Senior Financial Analyst – Process Improvement
Overview
The company is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will play a central role in modernizing and optimizing FP&A reporting practices. This position focuses on building automation, improving data workflows, and enhancing the overall efficiency of the finance team. Your work will enable analysts to spend more time on high-value strategic insights by ensuring that data is accurate, streamlined, and ready for advanced visualization.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Automation & Workflow Redesign
- Develop automated solutions for recurring reporting cycles, including executive summaries, sales performance updates, and board-level materials.
- Architect and support automated data pipelines that reduce manual intervention while improving reporting precision.
- Partner with teams from newly acquired businesses to standardize and integrate reporting processes; coordinate with IT to ensure alignment on data flow, structure, and system connectivity.
Data Preparation & Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with business analysts and dashboard developers to create dependable data sources using optimized SQL queries and relevant scripting.
- Clean, test, and structure incoming datasets to ensure they meet quality requirements for reporting and visual analytics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work directly with FP&A analysts to understand their reporting challenges and identify areas where automation can replace manual tasks.
- Engage with leadership and cross-functional partners to ensure process enhancements meet business needs and support organizational goals.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Review existing workflows to recommend improvements and push forward opportunities for additional automation.
- Stay informed on modern tools, technologies, and automation methodologies that can elevate the finance team's capabilities.
Data Governance & Documentation
- Maintain strong data validation procedures across automated systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Document automated reporting workflows and processes to support transparency, consistency, and team knowledge-sharing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance-, analytics-, or technology-related field.
- 3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or data analytics with a strong emphasis on automation.
- Strong command of SQL; familiarity with Python, R, or similar scripting tools is highly advantageous.
- Experience working with BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Solid understanding of financial analysis principles and FP&A processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to AI tools and their use in automation or analytics.
- Passion for efficiency, detail orientation, and continuous process improvement.
Preferred
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, analytics-focused credentials).
- Experience leading or participating in cross-department automation or process transformation projects.
- Proven ability to design scalable automation solutions in a fast-moving environment.
