Schedule: Swing Shift (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
Work Week: Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday
Weekly Hours: Approximately 40–50 hours
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Production Supervisor II to oversee production operations during the swing shift at a fast-paced food manufacturing facility in San Leandro, California.
This role is responsible for supervising hourly production employees, coordinating daily manufacturing activities, and ensuring production targets, safety requirements, and quality standards are consistently met. The Production Supervisor will collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and operations teams to maintain efficient workflows and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production operations and shift personnel to meet production targets
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, GMP standards, and workplace safety procedures
- Monitor production performance metrics and address variances to maintain operational efficiency
- Communicate daily goals, performance metrics, and operational updates to production teams
- Train, mentor, and support production employees to improve performance and maintain productivity
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse teams to resolve equipment or process issues
- Conduct shift handoff meetings and maintain accurate operational reports
- Lead safety meetings and support incident investigations when necessary
- Ensure compliance documentation and operational records are completed accurately
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and plant operational goals
- Maintain a productive and safe work environment on the production floor
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility with industrial machinery and production equipment
- Environment may be noisy and require appropriate PPE
- Some areas may have cold or refrigerated conditions
- Facility operates 24 hours a day
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 4 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or production environment
- Experience working with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
- Ability to supervise and lead a diverse workforce
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and workplace safety programs
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in dairy or food processing environments
- Experience coaching and developing production employees
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with manufacturing performance metrics and reporting systems
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
