Job Description:
As a Tooling Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and improvement of tooling used in our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with other engineers, designers, and production teams to ensure the quality, functionality, and efficiency of tools and dies. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in tool and die design and a basic understanding of CAD software to review, revise, and perform walk-throughs of tooling designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tooling Design & Development: Work with the engineering team to design, modify, and optimize tools and dies for various manufacturing processes.
- CAD Review & Revisions: Use CAD software to review and revise tooling designs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production.
- Walk-throughs: Conduct walk-throughs of tooling designs with team members and stakeholders to ensure all design specifications are met and that the tooling is capable of performing as intended.
- Final Design Checks: Perform final checks and quality control on tooling designs before production, ensuring that all technical requirements are met and the designs are manufacturable.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to provide technical support and solve tooling-related issues during production.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in tooling design, efficiency, and production methods.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of tooling designs, revisions, and changes.
- Troubleshooting: Assist with troubleshooting tooling issues and provide recommendations for repair or redesign.
Qualifications:
- Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience in tool and die design or a related field.
- Required: Basic understanding of CAD software and the ability to conduct design reviews, revisions, and walk-throughs.
- Preferred: Experience performing final checks and quality control on tooling designs before production.
- Knowledge of Materials & Processes: Familiarity with materials used in tooling and the manufacturing processes associated with tool and die production.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with an ability to catch errors and ensure designs meet all specifications.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and find practical solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
