Responsibilities:
- Perform ship fitting tasks including layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal structures and components.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and precise fitting.
- Use various tools and equipment, including welding machines, grinders, and cutting torches, to complete ship fitting projects.
- Collaborate with other trades and departments to ensure efficient workflow and project timelines.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets shipyard standards and safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a 1st Class Ship Fitter.
- Strong knowledge of ship fitting techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of ship fitting tools and equipment.
- Welding certification and experience in welding processes related to ship fitting.
- Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized ship fitting apprenticeship program.
- Minimum [3] years of experience as a 1st Class Ship Fitter on a ship yard.
