Summary:

Talbot House Ministries was established to be a place of hope for people who had lost hope: the hungry, the homeless, and the poor. Planting the seeds of hope is something we do with everyone who comes through our doors.

The Fundraising Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, promoting, and executing fundraising events and community engagement initiatives that advance the mission of Talbot House Ministries. This position develops and strengthens relationships with sponsors, donors, volunteers, churches, businesses, and community organizations while ensuring all events reflect the ministry's commitment to excellence, stewardship, compassion, and Christian values.

The successful candidate is highly organized, relational, creative, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Event Planning & Fundraising

  • Plan and execute all fundraising events from concept through post-event evaluation.
  • Develop event budgets, timelines, logistics plans, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate venues, vendors, catering, entertainment, rentals, audiovisual needs, registration, and event logistics.
  • Ensure events are delivered professionally, on time, and within approved budgets.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and recommend improvements for future events.
  • Support annual giving campaigns and special fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop innovative fundraising opportunities.

Sponsorships & Community Partnerships

  • Recruit, cultivate, and steward event sponsors and community partners.
  • Secure sponsorship revenue and in-kind donations to support ministry events and programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, churches, civic organizations, foundations, and community leaders.
  • Ensure sponsor recognition and benefits are fulfilled according to commitments.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospective sponsors and partners.

Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers for fundraising events.
  • Build volunteer partnerships with churches, schools, universities, businesses, and civic groups.
  • Coordinate volunteer assignments to ensure successful event operations.
  • Promote volunteer engagement through effective communication, recognition, and appreciation efforts.

Community Engagement & Public Relations

  • Serve as an ambassador for Talbot House Ministries within the community.
  • Coordinate tours and outreach opportunities for donors, sponsors, churches, businesses, and prospective partners.
  • Represent the ministry at networking events, community meetings, and public functions.
  • Increase awareness of the ministry through relationship-building and community engagement activities.

Collaboration & Administrative Support

  • Work collaboratively with ministry departments to accurately communicate program impact through events.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure event needs are met effectively.
  • Assist with gathering stories, testimonials, photographs, and event highlights for marketing and communications efforts.
  • Maintain accurate event records, sponsorship documentation, volunteer information, and event budgets.

Key Performance Indicators:

Successful Event Execution

Execute 100% of assigned fundraising events on schedule and within approved budgets.

Complete post-event evaluations within 10 business days.

Fundraising & Sponsorship Growth

Meet or exceed fundraising goals established for events.

Maintain and grow sponsorship and in-kind donation support annually.

Volunteer Engagement

Recruit and coordinate volunteers for all major fundraising events.

Maintain positive volunteer retention, satisfaction, and participation.

Community Relationship Development

Actively cultivate partnerships with churches, businesses, civic organizations, donors, and community leaders.

Represent Talbot House Ministries professionally at community functions and outreach events.

Administrative & Professional Excellence

Maintain accurate event, sponsor, volunteer, and budget records.

Meet established deadlines and provide exceptional customer service to donors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

· Ability to interact professionally with donors, sponsors, community leaders, churches, businesses, and volunteers.

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

· Commitment to the mission and values of Talbot House Ministries.

Education and Background:

· Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related field.

· Equivalent nonprofit, fundraising, event planning, or community engagement experience may substitute for formal education.

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, hospitality, community engagement, or a closely related field preferred.

· Experience securing sponsorships, coordinating fundraising events, and working with volunteers is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout event venues for extended periods.

· Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.

· Ability to set up, transport, and organize event materials and supplies.

· Ability to travel locally for meetings, tours, outreach activities, and fundraising events.

· Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and outdoor events in varying weather conditions.

All positions at Talbot House Ministries require mandatory ongoing training and every employee is required to be available for all scheduled training. In addition, employee attendance is required at all mandatory staff meetings.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
