Position Summary
The Counselor is responsible for delivering high-quality behavioral health services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders. This position provides assessments, treatment planning, individual counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and coordination of care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations.
- Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family counseling.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.
- Monitor treatment progress and adjust interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, peer supporters, and community providers.
- Assist clients in developing healthy coping strategies, relapse prevention plans, and long-term recovery goals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations while exercising sound clinical judgment.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Ohio regulations, and ethical standards.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive culture centered on recovery and respect.
Qualifications
- Ohio behavioral health license or license eligibility preferred, including:
- LPC
- LPCC
- LSW
- LISW
- LCDC II, LCDC III, or LICDC (preferred where applicable)
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline preferred.
- Experience in mental health and/or substance use treatment is preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for serving others with compassion, professionalism, and integrity.
