Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with a strong background in Trust & Estate Planning to join our boutique law firm. This role is focused on estate planning, trust administration, and related matters and is best suited for a paralegal who has worked in a trust and estates practice and understands the drafting, administration, and client-facing aspects of this work.
Experience with WealthCounsel drafting software is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing estate planning and trust matters efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and review of estate planning documents, including Revocable Living Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Directives, Trust Transfer Deeds, Assignments, and related documents.
- Draft and revise estate planning documents using WealthCounsel software (experience required or strongly preferred).
- Support trust administration and probate matters, including document preparation, court filings, and coordination of deadlines.
- Manage estate planning and trust files to ensure accuracy, organization, and compliance with firm procedures.
- Prepare and assemble signing packages and assist with execution, notarization, and witnessing requirements.
- Conduct document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy, consistency, and legal compliance.
- Communicate professionally with clients to obtain information, provide updates, and coordinate appointments.
- Maintain accurate case information and deadlines in legal case management and CRM systems (experience with Lawmatics is a plus).
- Assist with trust funding coordination and asset schedules when applicable.
- Handle confidential client information with discretion and professionalism.
- Provide general administrative and case support as needed for estate planning and trust matters.
Experience & QualificationsRequired
- Prior experience as a Paralegal in a Trust & Estate Planning, Trust Administration, or Probate law firm.
- Strong working knowledge of estate planning documents and processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and general office software.
- Professional handling of confidential and sensitive client information.
Preferred
- Experience using WealthCounsel drafting software.
- Experience with Lawmatics or similar legal CRM/case management systems.
- Experience with probate court filings and trust administration procedures.
- Notary Public (or willingness to obtain).
