HR Manager

Summary:
Serves as a member of the management team, providing HR expertise. Develop and implement HR programs to drive continuous improvement. HR priorities include leadership development and succession planning, OD and effectiveness, associate relations, and recruitment. The position will manage all HR associates and be a Safety, Health, and Environmental Coordinator. Provides direction, coaching and counsel to all levels of employees to ensure team success!
Principal Responsibilities and Authority
- Jointly develop strategic HR priorities that support broad business goals; translate these into operational HR activities and implement.
- Systematically promote hiring and retaining high quality team members, and secure appropriate workforce structure.
- Champion cultural initiatives and communications to ensure company values are demonstrated and reinforced.
- Establish training structure for team member development (Training matrix and record keeping of certifications, etc.), to develop next generation successors in every organization hierarchy
- Develop policies which promote retention of high-quality team members of both salary and hourly (reward system, benefit package, etc.), to have the employees motivated to pursue higher goals & objectives in both individual & departmental.
- Establish and control workplace management systems, to protect safeness and health of the employees at work.
- Conduct HR administration (Security system for company assets, Facility 5S activity, etc.)
- Coach managers in the resolution of issues related to associates and the business.
- Identify and execute opportunities for more effective ways of working, by arranging internal & external opportunities for training.
- Assist in benchmarking HR practices and developing process improvements/encourage process change; apply metrics to measure continuous progress.
- Establish and control rule-abiding company cultures (company handbook, etc.)
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
- Administers benefits programs such as vacation, leave of absence (FMLA) etc.
- Conduct wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates and grades.
- Plans implement, communicate, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
- Establish and manage a structure to control environment to not only to maintain current level but also to pursue future improvement including plant energy saving.
- Experience in ISO 14001 and as a Lead Auditor
- Provide internal administration support.
- Provide assistance to TSS support team members dispatched from the global head quarter in Japan.
- Coordinate the annual performance management process, partner with the management team in the creation of employee development plans.
- Responsible for attendance records including the issuance of points and disciplinary actions.
- Champion and report on all HR metrics. Develop and implement initiatives to address areas of concern.
- Prepare and maintain all HR records as required.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Relationships
Reports and are accountable to Administration Corporate Officer.
Internal contacts: All internal departments.
External contacts: Recruiting outlets, benefits vendors, etc
Experience, Education, and Skill Requirements
- Excellent leadership skills and experience coaching others to be even more effective.
- Demonstrated results with HR best practices in a business environment.
- Skilled in all levels of the leadership pipeline up to and including manager of managers.
- Strong business acumen and budget management experience.
- Excellent relations skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong ethics, integrity and sound, logical judgment.
- Analytical thinker with proven ability to drive continuous improvement and results.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive and relevant HR management experience.
- A bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
- Minimum of PHR a plus
- Knowledge and familiarity of Japanese manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Automotive industry experience a plus

- Must know how to use and operate computer.
- Routine verbal and written communication.
- Frequent telephone and e-mail communication.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs.
- Moderate physical effort is required to move in-house products and/or purchased products.
- Exposed to heat during summer months and exposed to cold at times during the winter months.
- Upper noise levels
- Safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hats are always required.
- May have opportunities to be traveling to other TSI facilities (TX and/or Canada) in NA and/or TSS in Japan, as needed.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
