Ophthalmic Technician – Job Summary
An Ophthalmic Technician at Takle Eye Group supports ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering patient eye care. This role combines clinical skills, patient interaction, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary patient workups (medical history, vision tests, intraocular pressure, etc.)
- Assist doctors during eye exams and minor procedures
- Conduct diagnostic testing (e.g., visual fields, OCT imaging)
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain ophthalmic equipment
- Educate patients on treatments, medications, and follow-up care
- Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in ophthalmology or healthcare is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with medical software
Work Environment
