Position Summary
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of shipments, implements FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices, and maintains efficient warehouse flow. The Supervisor provides leadership and direction to warehouse staff, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive consistent and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations to meet company objectives.
- Ensure accuracy of all inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction.
- Enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices to maintain proper stock rotation.
- Optimize warehouse layout and flow to support efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and assets by implementing security measures and monitoring adherence to protocols.
- Manage budget and monitor expenses.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to warehousing, shipping, and material handling.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management procedures, best practices, and KPIs.
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success managing and training warehouse personnel.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management systems and related software.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
