Position Summary
The Area Coordinator plays a critical leadership role by ensuring smooth production operations, clear communication, and consistent area execution. This position provides direct support to employees, helps plan labor and workflow, and promotes a positive, accountable, high-performance culture. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem-solver, and hands-on leader with a proven track record in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily area operations to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
- Coordinate staffing, assign work, and ensure proper coverage throughout the area.
- Communicate area expectations, updates, and operational priorities to team members.
- Support employee engagement by providing coaching, guidance, and day-to-day leadership.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and other departments to act fast on challenges.
- Monitor performance indicators (output, downtime, scrap, attendance) and address issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate shift logs and reporting.
- Promote a safe work environment by leading by example and by enforcing safety policies. Work daily to build a safer environment.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Adopt the mentality of making our best better.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across the area.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of manufacturing experience required.
- Experience in a lead, coordinator, or informal leadership role strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of safety standards, production process, and manufacturing best practices.
