Overview
This role supports the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Technical Liaison, facilitating assessment, alignment, and optimization of technical areas to meet deployment requirements. The position involves direct engagement with local VAMC leads across various departments to ensure the necessary technical capabilities are in place for EHR deployment.
Education & Certification Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or an equivalent field is required.

Onsite Requirements
This role is a remote opportunity with the ability to travel 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Support VA EHRM deployment by assessing, aligning, and optimizing technical aspects.
- Work directly with local VAMC leads to ensure technical capabilities meet deployment needs.
- Coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals, and needs; develop integration strategies.
- Facilitate introduction of hardware and software into environments, minimizing disruptions and risks.
- Create strategies and plans for integrating multiple IT systems/subsystems while maintaining full functionality.
- Address technical concerns related to biomedical and medical devices, network, and information security.
- Leverage experience in EHR deployment, network security, and Health IT to support program objectives.
- Ensure technical compliance and readiness for deployment activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of experience, with 8 years of experience substitutable for degree requirements.
- Understanding of engineering and technical concerns related to biomedical and medical devices.
- Knowledge of EHR implementation and its relation to network and information security.
- Experience with EHR deployment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to create strategies for system integration into operational environments.
- Experience with Health IT systems and deployment projects.
Desired Skills
