Sr. Professional Services Technical Consultant
Overview
ScienceLogic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Services Technical Consultant to support enterprise monitoring and observability initiatives within a secure, mission-critical environment. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting infrastructure monitoring solutions across complex IT environments. Education Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
Clearance Requirements
This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph, which must be held at the time of application.
Work Arrangement
This is a on-site position located in Reston, VA, with the possibility of working at nearby locations such as Chantilly, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, or Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities
- Implement, configure, and support enterprise monitoring and observability platforms
- Perform system installation, troubleshooting, and optimization in Linux-based environments
- Support infrastructure monitoring across servers (Linux & Windows), network devices, and storage systems
- Configure alerting, event management, and system integrations
- Work directly with technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support integration with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow
- Act as a technical SME during implementation and post-deployment support
- Record all activity and communication with customers in the ticketing system
- Adhere to best practices for professional services delivery
- Participate in departmental projects and initiatives
- Maintain a proactive, process-driven approach to continuous improvement
- Provide leadership and guidance to customers regarding monitoring solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently
- Support and support federal or commercial IT standards, including security audits and change management procedures
Required Qualifications
- Strong Linux system administration experience, including command line, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Solid networking fundamentals, including SNMP ports and protocols, firewalls
- Hands-on experience with monitoring/observability tools such as ScienceLogic (preferred), Dynatrace, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, or LogicMonitor
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, discovery, and alerting workflows
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms
- Experience working in cleared or federal environments
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer-handling skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- 5 years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments
Desired Skills
- Direct experience with ScienceLogic SL1 platform
- Experience with ServiceNow integrations, including CMDB and ticketing workflows
- Exposure to automation or scripting, such as Python
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure security standards and best practices
- Experience with additional automation tools and scripting languages like PHP, GQL, or XML/SOAP
