Duties
- Stock shelves accurately and efficiently, ensuring products are well-organized and visually appealing through effective merchandising techniques.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions quickly and accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with professionalism.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions about products, and assisting with product demos when needed.
- Maintain clean and safe checkout areas while adhering to phone etiquette standards when communicating with customers or team members over the phone.
- Upsell relevant products or promotions to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and increase sales.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting stock counts, organizing back-stock areas, and replenishing shelves as necessary.
- Support grocery store operations by ensuring proper stocking of perishable and non-perishable items, following safety guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors, including supervising experience for leadership roles.
- Handle cash accurately during register operations while practicing excellent customer service skills throughout every interaction.
- Engage customers through product demos or promotional displays to boost sales and enhance their shopping experience.
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling is highly desirable.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or merchandising techniques will be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills combined with friendly phone etiquette are essential for success in this role.
