Taj Indian Cuisine & Bar is seeking an experienced Indian Tandoori Chef to join our growing kitchen team in Madison, Wisconsin.
We specialize in authentic North Indian cuisine, including traditional tandoori dishes, kebabs, and freshly baked naan prepared in a clay tandoor oven. We are looking for a hardworking chef with strong experience in Indian kitchens who understands traditional preparation techniques and takes pride in maintaining quality and consistency.
This is a long-term position in a growing restaurant where teamwork, professionalism, and reliability are essential. The ideal candidate must work well with others and help maintain a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook tandoori dishes such as chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, and other clay oven specialties
- Prepare and bake naan, garlic naan, roti, and other breads in the tandoor
- Prepare marinades and properly marinate meats and vegetables
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the tandoor station and kitchen
- Assist with prep and other kitchen responsibilities as needed
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and strong teamwork
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years experience working as a Tandoori Chef or Indian cook
- Experience using a traditional clay tandoor oven
- Knowledge of North Indian cooking techniques and spices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong teamwork skills and positive attitude
- Reliable and hardworking

Pay: $4,500.00 - $6,000.00 per month
