TAIT is looking for experienced Freelance Credential Managers (U.S. based) to support a major project taking place on-site in Washington, DC from mid‑May through mid‑June 2026, with remote preproduction to begin April 2026. Travel and accommodations will be provided.
This is a temporary contract role, not a full-time staff position.

This includes developing access/zone plans, managing credential requests for vendors, partners, crew, talent, and other stakeholders, administering credential software systems, producing and issuing credentials on-site, and supervising the work of a credentialing vendor. The Credential Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of event access control and credentialing. This includes developing access/zone plans, managing credential requests for vendors, partners, crew, talent, and other stakeholders, administering credential software systems, producing and issuing credentials on-site, and supervising the work of a credentialing vendor. This position reports to the Event Operations Director.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain event access control “zone” maps.
- Set up and manage the credential database.
- Collect, review, and process credential requests from vendors, staff, partners, clients, talent, and media.
- Collaborate with internal departments to fulfill credential needs for crew, talent, VVIPs, and other key groups.
- Produce and distribute credentials on site, ensuring accurate access levels.
- Troubleshoot credential and access-related issues on site while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Oversee deliverables and performance of the credentialing vendor.
- Generate weekly credential reports and comprehensive post-event credential data reports.
- Adapt responsibilities as project needs evolve—this role requires flexibility and responsiveness.
. Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 4 years of management experience in live events, entertainment, touring, or production.
- Past credential management experience or similar for large scale or “mega” events.
- Past experience with credential management systems preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) on Mac or Windows; familiarity with AirTable or comparable data management platforms.
- Ability to participate in meetings across flexible time zones as required.
- Commitment to fostering transparent communication channels across all departments.
- Ensures adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and best practices
