Why You'll Love This Job
- You'll build real relationships. We take the time to get to know each dog, and trust starts on the very first walk.
- You'll make an impact. Our clients count on us to help their dogs live happier, healthier lives while giving them peace of mind during the workday.
- You'll stay active. Get your steps in and enjoy Maine's fresh air.
- You'll be part of something real. We're raising the bar for dog care, one walk at a time.
Why This Job Might Not Be for You
This job is rewarding, but it's not always easy. You'll need to be comfortable with:
- Every shift looking a little different. You'll follow a set route that changes depending on which dogs are on the schedule.
- About 5 miles of walking a shift. Rain, snow, and sun, we're out there!
- Driving house to house between walks
- Part-time hours that work best as supplemental income
- Starting small. Hours are earned, and walkers can grow to 15 to 18 hours a week.
- Feedback. We give and ask for it, because that's how we keep showing up for our dogs and each other.
What We Ask of You
As a Tails & Trails walker, you'll follow each dog's care instructions closely, manage a time-sensitive schedule, and send thoughtful visit updates to pet parents. Strong written communication matters a lot here. We value people who are proactive, detail-oriented, open to feedback, and great teammates.
