Overview
Tailored Path Consulting is looking for experienced educators, mentors, and human services professionals to join our team as 1099 Subcontractor Job Skills Coaches. We partner with state programs to help youth and adults with disabilities build real-world work readiness, confidence, and independence.
This is not standing next to someone on a job site all day. You will primarily meet clients one-on-one—in their homes, at local coffee shops, or in community spaces—to deliver structured counseling and skill-building in areas like job exploration, work adjustment, personal adjustment, and self-advocacy.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Meet 1-on-1 with clients at their homes, coffee shops, or community sites to teach practical workplace and life skills.
- Provide targeted counseling in Job Exploration, Work Adjustment, Personal Adjustment Training, and Self-Advocacy.
- Help clients build resumes, learn communication skills, practice interviewing, and navigate workplace expectations.
- Keep accurate, prompt progress notes and billing documentation for sessions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Background in teaching, special education, human services, social work, counseling, or direct coaching/mentoring (teachers, paras, and former educators are ideal).
- Business Setup: Operating as an independent 1099 contractor (or ready to set up), with active General / Professional Liability insurance (or willing to obtain).
- Skills: Strong 1-on-1 communication, patience, rapport-building, and skill instruction.
- Documentation: Ability to write clear, accurate, and timely session notes and reporting.
- Logistics: Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, auto insurance, and ability to pass a background check.
