Litigation Paralegal
Location: Naples, FL (Onsite)
About the Role:
Seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Naples office. In this role, you'll support attorneys who defend healthcare professionals, hospitals, and insurance companies in medical malpractice and healthcare litigation matters.
You'll play an important role throughout the litigation process by managing case files, reviewing medical records, coordinating discovery, working with expert witnesses, and preparing cases for trial.
What You'll Do:
- Manage multiple litigation cases from start to finish.
- Review and summarize medical records, bills, and create medical timelines (chronologies).
- Organize and prepare documents for discovery, including Bates stamping and redacting confidential information.
- Conduct legal, civil, and criminal background research.
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness lists, subpoenas, and trial notebooks.
- Perform online legal research and maintain organized electronic case files.
- Review vendor invoices and submit them for payment.
- Prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
What We're Looking For:
- 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Insurance defense experience is required.
- Experience supporting medical malpractice or healthcare defense cases is highly preferred.
- Strong experience reviewing and summarizing medical records.
- Experience with discovery, document production, and trial preparation.
- Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP)
- ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's degree
- Trial experience
- Experience working in Florida state and federal courts
