Job Overview
Get your start in the restaurant industry as a Host or Hostess. This role is critical as you are the first face guests see when they walk in the door. You create a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive, so having enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and organizational abilities is a must.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly with a friendly and professional demeanor, setting a positive tone for their visit
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and coordinate seating to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction
- Answer incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette, assist with reservations, and address guest inquiries efficiently
- Organize waiting lists, monitor guest flow, and manage wait times to enhance the overall guest experience
- Make every guest feel like a VIP
Experience
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a high-end restaurant is preferred, but not required
- Customer service experience is preferred, but not required
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette and guest interaction techniques
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
