Role Overview
As the Manager of Tailholt Coffee Co., you are the heartbeat of our shop. You will oversee all daily operations, from staff management and inventory to finances and event coordination. Because we believe in leading by example, this role also requires jumping behind the bar for a few barista shifts each week to serve our community, maintain your coffee craft, and work side-by-side with the team.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Culture
- Staff Management: Hire, train, coach, and support our team of baristas to ensure exceptional performance and customer service.
- Scheduling: Create and manage weekly staff schedules, balancing business needs with team availability.
- Cultural Standards: Act as the standard-bearer for the Tailholt Coffee Co. culture, ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and high-energy environment for both staff and guests.
Operations & Administration
- Inventory & Orders: Manage inventory levels, place vendor orders, and ensure we never run out of our essential craft coffee supplies.
- Supply Runs: Coordinate and execute local supply runs as needed to keep the shop fully stocked.
- Event Coordination: Plan, manage, and execute in-shop events, pop-ups, or community gatherings to elevate the Tailholt brand in Rogue River.
- Other Tasks: Handle day-to-day operational challenges and perform other duties as directed by ownership.
Financial Management
- Payroll: Ensure accurate and timely processing of team timesheets and payroll.
- Money Management: Oversee daily cash handling, till reconciliation, and bank deposits.
Coffee Craft & Service
- Barista Shifts: Work a designated number of barista shifts per week, preparing high-quality craft coffee beverages.
- Quality Control: Maintain strict adherence to our recipes, dialing-in procedures, and presentation standards.
Qualifications
- Management Experience: Proven experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably within the food, beverage, or hospitality industry.
- Barista Experience: Previous experience as a barista in a craft or specialty coffee environment is strictly required. You must know your way around an espresso machine.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities. Must be comfortable handling cash and basic administrative software (scheduling, payroll, POS).
- Mindset: A proactive problem-solver with a genuine passion for craft coffee and community building

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 45 per week
