Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to animals in our kennel, including feeding, watering, exercising, and monitoring their health status
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and equipment through regular sanitization and cleaning procedures
- Assist with pet boarding tasks to ensure all animals are comfortable and well-cared for
- Support animal behavior assessments and training activities to promote positive interactions and reduce stress
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, including sanitation standards for pet care facility hygiene
- Engage with pet owners professionally by answering questions, providing updates on their pets’ well-being, and delivering excellent customer service
Experience
- Previous veterinary experience or animal handling background is highly desirable
- Experience working as a kennel attendant or in animal care facilities is preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior is a plus
- Hands-on pet boarding experience will be considered an asset
- Comfort with outdoor work environments and heavy lifting is necessary for this role
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods, pet grooming, and sanitation practices enhances your candidacy
- Strong team lifting skills to assist with moving supplies or animals safely
