About the Role:

TAI's Electrical Group is seeking an experienced Engineer 2 to drive the detailed design and delivery of electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of design experience, demonstrating expert capability in creating all construction documents (including single lines, power plans, and load lists) using Revit and AutoCAD. We require a professional who is proficient in the NEC (NFPA 70), capable of independent coordination across engineering disciplines, and ready to manage the full lifecycle of design for commercial, industrial, and government facilities.

Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:

  • Research applicable industry standards, prepare engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
  • Design of electrical and controls construction drawings and documents, including single lines, power and instrument location plans, panel schedules, drawing lists, Bill of materials, conduit block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and load lists.
  • Develop engineering specifications and project cost estimates.
  • Review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.
  • Coordinate some aspects of project document completion.
  • Direct CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.
  • Possess ability to interpret applicable codes.
  • Independently work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.
  • Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.


You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or other relevant field of study.
  • EIT is preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of design experience supporting the development of construction drawings.
  • Proficient with REVIT and AutoCAD 2D in model and paper space environment.
  • Experience in specifying, designing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, government, hospitals, and/or datacenters.
  • Experience designing, reviewing and approving Electrical Construction Drawing sets including but not limited Single lines, grounding plans, lightning protection, power plans, lighting plans, and communication and security infrastructure plans.
  • Working Knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70).
  • Effectively manage multiple ongoing project and tasks.
  • Assure compliance with company and client CAD standards.
  • Capable of performing field surveys in order to document existing conditions.
  • Review construction packages from designers for company and department standards.
  • Working Knowledge of LEED, ASHRAE, IECC, and IGCC energy codes.
  • Knowledge of ICS 705 preferred.
  • Knowledge of IES recommendations
