Summary
Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares and delivers medications pursuant to physician’s orders after being processed by a pharmacist.
- Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies.
- Contributes to the effective operations of the department.
- Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department.
- Maintains adequate office supplies.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience
Certificate of completion from college or vocational school (One year certificate from college or technical school) or 2-3 years relevant experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
California Pharmacy Technician License

Other Experience/Qualifications
Required:
- 2-3 years pharmacy technician experience
Preferred:
- Current pharmacy technician certification in the State of Nevada
