Summary
Performs scanning and electronic indexing of patient medical records into various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Proficient in the scanning and indexing systems in the outpatient clinics, Cancer Center and other areas as required.
- Maintains an organizational system ensuring timely completion of scanning.
- Prioritizes work based concept of first-in, first-out, unless otherwise directed.
- Scans file packets into imaging system.
- Matches corresponding paperwork to patient records and applies appropriate patient identifiers.
- Assures quality of images and data scanned.
- Ensures that reports have been reviewed and signed by providers prior to scanning.
- Utilizes standardized indexing guidelines.
- Identifies misfiled documentation and promptly corrects errors.
- Troubleshoots and reports hardware and software issues to appropriate parties.
- Trains other scanning/indexing staff as needed, for workflows specific to the clinics.
- Participates in quality assurance activities Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
