Summary
Provides maintenance, repair, preventive and installation services for biomedical equipment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Repairs, tests, calibrates, and inspects new, existing or repaired non-life safety biomedical equipment as required by relevant standards and in conformance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintains and updates inventory of the facility's biomedical equipment; maintains an inventory of replacement parts and standby equipment to minimize disruption of patient care, under direction of supervisor.
- Performs scheduled inspections and tests necessary to maintain conformance to required standards and regulatory requirements. Assists in preparing related documentation; may participate in investigation of incidents involving biomedical equipment.
- Provides support to ensure that clinical equipment meets safety requirements and safety checks loaner equipment prior to use in the District facilities.
- Assists in training personnel on safe use and care of equipment.
- Assists in providing emergency service for biomedical equipment classified as life-safety equipment.
- May be called in to work nights and weekends.
- May be responsible for reviewing work performed by outside service vendors.
- Stays current on manufacturers safety protocols and training as required for maintenance on newly acquired equipment.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
