Nursery Worker (Part-Time)
Tahlequah United Methodist Church – Tahlequah, OK
Pay: $10.00 per hour
Do you enjoy caring for young children and creating a safe, welcoming environment where families feel at home? Tahlequah United Methodist Church is looking for a compassionate and dependable Nursery Worker to join our Children's Ministry team.
This position is more than childcare—it is an opportunity to support families and help create a loving environment where children experience God's love through kindness, patience, and excellent care.
Schedule
- Sundays: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Additional hours may be available for special church programs, holidays, and events.
Responsibilities
- Provide loving, attentive care for infants and young children.
- Ensure the nursery remains safe, clean, and welcoming.
- Engage children with age-appropriate toys, books, music, and activities.
- Comfort children and communicate effectively with parents.
- Follow all nursery safety procedures and church child protection policies.
- Work cooperatively with church staff and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Must be dependable, caring, and patient.
- Enjoy working with infants and young children.
- Childcare experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively engage with children on the floor, at play, and during daily care activities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and committed to providing excellent care.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
