JOB TITLE: Paraprofessional
JOB DESCRIPTION NARRATIVE:
Help students with assignments and to assist teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge:
Must have completed 48 college hours, possess an Associates degree, or successful completion of ParaPro Assessment.
Skills:
Light typing work
Machines/Equipment:
Computers, tape recorder, copier
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Primary:
- Help students
- Assist teacher in classroom.
- Grade papers.
- Work on bulletin boards (keep up-to-date calendar).
- Run errands (office, in-house, counselors, etc) for teacher.
- Run off papers.
- Take class for reading teacher for half day or less.
Secondary:
- Help principal and/or in office as needed.
- Fill in for other teachers as needed.
- Help watch hall during class changes (daily).
- Help with school functions (ex: “No pink slip parties”).
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
