Position Summary
The Sales Account Executive – Labels is responsible for managing and expanding established customer relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities within the labels and packaging markets.
This position will serve as a trusted commercial partner to customers, providing solutions that address their packaging, performance, and business needs. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the labels or flexible packaging industry, proven account-management capabilities, and the technical understanding necessary to effectively communicate product value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established portfolio of customer accounts within the assigned territory.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with customers, key decision-makers, and industry partners.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the labels and packaging markets.
- Develop strategic account plans that support revenue growth, customer retention, and market expansion.
- Understand customer applications, technical requirements, business challenges, and purchasing processes.
- Recommend appropriate label, film, paper, or packaging solutions based on customer needs.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Service, Marketing, Research and Development, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams.
- Coordinate customer trials, product evaluations, technical discussions, and commercialization activities.
- Prepare and deliver customer presentations, proposals, pricing recommendations, and business reviews.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and agreements while protecting company profitability.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity pipelines, account activity, and customer information.
- Monitor competitive activity, customer trends, and changes within the labels and packaging industries.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.
- Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to support existing customers and develop new accounts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, Packaging, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in sales, account management, or business development within the labels, films, paper, flexible packaging, or related packaging industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage established customer relationships and generate new business.
- Strong understanding of packaging products, applications, customer requirements, and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to balance customer expectations with company objectives.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively across departments and regions.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
- Ability to work legally within the applicable country of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling pressure-sensitive labels, label stock, BOPP films, specialty films, paper products, or related packaging materials.
- Experience supporting customers across multiple countries, regions, or territories.
- Established relationships within the labels, converting, printing, or flexible packaging industries.
- Experience using a customer relationship management system such as Salesforce.
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or French.
