Job Summary
The purpose of the Buyer role is to ensure the timely and cost effective procurement of materials, components, and services required to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, managing importation activities, maintaining inventory levels, and collaborating with internal teams to meet production schedules, quality standards, and budget objectives.
Duties
- Procure materials and MRO items to support RFID inlay production and company operations, including IC chips, antennas, substrates, adhesives, liners, office supplies, machine tools, facility services, and C-item raw materials.
- Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, expedite shipments, and resolve supply or nonconformance issues through investigation and root cause analysis.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels in coordination with production planning to support continuous high-speed production and ensure accurate material receipt and data integrity within WMS locations.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, coordinate supplier setup and documentation, and ensure certifications remain current in compliance with the Quality Management System.
- Reconcile invoice and purchase order discrepancies and assist with returns and disputes as needed.
- Collaborate with Logistics, Quality, Finance, and internal teams to support efficient material flow, reporting, and communication.
- Contribute to cost reduction initiatives, lead time improvements, and material utilization projects.
- Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- 1-2 years’ Buyer experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry a plus
- Experience on a computerized purchasing system desired
- Knowledge of SAGE a plus
- Proficiency on Microsoft platforms
Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
