Job Overview – Telemetry RN (Float):
Compensation: $45/hour
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Telemetry RN (Float) in Chattanooga, TN for our client. In this role, you will provide continuous cardiac monitoring, respond to acute changes, administer clinical interventions, and support patient care across multiple units. You will use telemetry and EHR systems to assess, interpret, and escalate patient needs while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities as the Telemetry RN (Float):
- Patient Monitoring: Provide continuous telemetry monitoring, recognize acute changes, interpret basic ECGs, and escalate critical findings promptly.
- Clinical Interventions: Administer medications, manage IV therapies, implement safety measures, and prevent falls or skin breakdown per hospital standards.
- Rapid Response & Assessment: Respond to rapidly changing conditions, anticipate patient needs, and coordinate timely clinical interventions.
- Care Coordination: Prioritize and manage multiple patient needs across float units while ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to best practices.
- Patient Advocacy & Education: Support patient dignity, offer emotional comfort, act as an advocate, and provide clear education on conditions and care plans.
Qualifications for the Telemetry RN (Float):
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred).
- Experience: At least 1 year of acute care nursing experience, with prior telemetry or cardiac monitoring experience strongly preferred.
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Certification: American Heart Association BLS required (ACLS and PALS preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in telemetry monitoring, medication administration, wound care, ECG interpretation (basic), and EHR documentation.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while prioritizing patient safety.
