Job Overview – Licensed Vocational Nurse (Residential Care):
Compensation: $40 – $42/hour
Location: Escondido, CA
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse (Residential Care) in Escondido, CA for our client. You will provide daily medical support in a residential setting, including assessments, medication administration, chronic condition management, and health education. You will coordinate care, address health concerns, collaborate with staff, and maintain compliance with state regulations. Ideal for LVNs experienced in developmental disabilities, diabetes care, and residential health.
Responsibilities as the Licensed Vocational Nurse:
- Medical Oversight: Manage the daily healthcare needs of residents by performing assessments, monitoring conditions, and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Medication & Chronic Care Management: Administer medications, including insulin, and monitor chronic conditions using tools such as Dexcom and other glucose-monitoring devices.
- Care Coordination: Communicate with physicians, specialists, caregivers, and program staff to ensure continuity of care and timely follow-up.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate medical records and ensure adherence to state regulations and residential care standards.
- Health Education & Support: Provide instruction on medication use, self-care, and condition management while contributing to a safe, supportive living environment.
Qualifications for the Licensed Vocational Nurse:
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted California LVN license required.
- Experience: LVN experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and managing insulin-dependent diabetes with Dexcom monitoring, with residential or community health experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in medication administration, wound care, glucose monitoring, and electronic documentation systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of residential care regulations, person-centered planning, and chronic disease management.
- Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, patient-focused LVN with excellent communication skills, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a residential setting.
- Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between programs or medical appointments when needed.
