Job Overview – Endoscopy Tech (Part-Time)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring an Endoscopy Tech (Part-Time) in New York, NY for our client, supporting gastroenterology procedures and daily endoscopy operations within a fast-paced clinical environment. This role will assist physicians during procedures, prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment, support biopsy collection activities, and ensure procedure rooms remain fully stocked and compliant with infection control standards. The ideal candidate is experienced in endoscopy support, comfortable working in high-volume procedure settings, and capable of stepping into a hands-on clinical role quickly.
Responsibilities as the Endoscopy Tech:
- Procedure Assistance: Support physicians during endoscopy procedures including patient preparation, positioning, and specimen collection activities.
- Equipment Management: Clean, disinfect, maintain, and process endoscopes and related procedure room equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Procedure Room Support: Perform daily equipment safety checks and maintain readiness of procedure rooms and clinical supplies.
- Inventory Coordination: Monitor supply levels and communicate equipment, repair, and inventory needs to leadership.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain logs, maintenance records, and procedural documentation as required.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and procedure scheduling.
Qualifications for the Endoscopy Tech:
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Certification: Current BLS certification is required or must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of endoscopy technician experience within a procedural or gastroenterology setting is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience assisting with biopsies, endoscopy procedures, and high-volume clinical environments is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with endoscope handling, infection control practices, and endoscopy equipment maintenance is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are required.
