About the Project
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the field operations for a large school renovation and addition project. This is a multi-phase, occupied-campus construction project that requires exceptional planning, coordination, communication, and leadership.
Position Overview
The Construction Superintendent will oversee all day-to-day field activities, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and manage subcontractors to maintain schedule, quality, and budget requirements. This role requires strong experience with K–12 or higher education construction, renovation in active facilities, and ground-up additions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities.
- Maintain an aggressive project schedule while ensuring safety and quality.
- Coordinate daily with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and the project management team.
- Conduct daily field reports, safety meetings, and progress updates.
- Enforce project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Oversee site logistics, deliveries, material staging, and site safety compliance.
- Anticipate and resolve field issues before they impact the project schedule.
- Ensure all work meets quality expectations and municipal inspections.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager on RFIs, change orders, and planning.
- Maintain positive communication with school administrators and stakeholders during construction on an occupied campus.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
- Proven success managing projects $30M , preferably K–12 or institutional.
- Strong understanding of structural, MEP, interior renovation, and sitework sequencing.
- Experience working in occupied schools or similar sensitive environments.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- OSHA 30 certification required; safety-oriented mindset is essential.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
