Job Summary
The Behavior Aide will provide continuous support district-wide to the overall educational environment on student behavior, including by not limited to the following: Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans; Learn and apply individual instructional procedures; Assist in collection of data; Monitor and chart student behavior; Assist with student in crisis; Maintain safety of students/s and adult/s; Perform a variety of other supportive tasks. Intervene, redirect, and lead back on task student behaviors that interfere with classroom learning and/or affect social-emotional interactions. The Behavior Aide is under the guidance and supervision of the Behavior Specialist, Special Education Director and site administrator. These positions are located in Taft, CA.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: • Graduation from high school or equivalent. • Training in CPR and First Aid • Upon hire, completion of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) non-violent physical crisis intervention training or equivalent. • Must successfully complete the Paraprofessional Testing, or have 48 semester college units Experience: • Experience working with elementary and junior high school student with behavioral challenges is desired.
Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
