Job Summary: Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram Parts counterperson is responsible for the efficient management and organization of parts and components inventory to support the maintenance and repair of equipment, vehicles, or machinery. They work closely with technicians, mechanics, and other staff members to ensure that the right parts are available when needed to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and catalog incoming parts and components.
- Organize and maintain inventory in a well-organized and accessible manner.
- Regularly update inventory records and databases to track stock levels and order supplies as needed.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Order Processing:
- Place orders for parts and components from suppliers and vendors based on inventory needs and demand forecasts.
- Verify and confirm purchase orders, ensuring the accuracy of orders and deliveries.
- Handle any issues or discrepancies related to orders, such as damaged or incorrect parts.
Quality Control:
- Inspect incoming parts for quality and conformity to specifications.
- Identify and address any issues related to the quality of parts and components.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of inventory, including part numbers, descriptions, and supplier information.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and costs.
- Keep documentation related to parts warranties, returns, and replacements.
Customer Service:
- Assist technicians, mechanics, and other personnel in identifying and locating the necessary parts for repairs or maintenance.
- Provide information on availability, pricing, and delivery times to customers and internal staff.
- Address inquiries and provide support to customers regarding parts-related issues.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations when handling and storing parts.
- Ensure compliance with any industry-specific or company-specific guidelines related to parts management.
Organization and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and organized parts storage area.
- Implement systems for easy access and quick retrieval of parts.
