We are seeking a Merchant Sales Representative to help expand our merchant portfolio by acquiring new business clients and introducing modern payment solutions to local merchants.
Role Overview
The Merchant Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying and onboarding small and medium-sized businesses that require payment processing services and POS systems. The role involves direct engagement with local merchants, analyzing their existing payment setups, and presenting competitive payment solutions.
This is a relationship-driven sales role focused on long-term merchant partnerships and recurring revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and acquire new merchant clients in the Maryland and DMV region
- Conduct payment statement analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities for merchants
- Present payment processing solutions and POS technology to business owners
- Assist merchants in selecting appropriate POS and payment solutions
- Coordinate with the operations team to complete merchant onboarding
- Maintain relationships with merchants and provide ongoing support
- Build a pipeline of prospective merchants through networking and outreach
Qualifications
- Sales experience in merchant services, fintech, POS systems, or B2B sales preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a sales pipeline
- Comfortable engaging directly with small business owners
- Knowledge of payment processing or POS systems is an advantage
Compensation
- Base salary plus commission structure
- Performance-based incentives tied to merchant onboarding and portfolio growth
