The Software Configuration Analyst is responsible for providing direct support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific in the execution of software configuration management, delivery coordination, and technical support for the C2P CDLMS baseline and associated host combat system integrations across lab, fleet, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) environments. This includes planning, executing, and documenting software deliveries, configuration changes, and quality assurance activities for both legacy and tech-refresh systems.CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITESAbility to perform the following mostly independently:Lead configuration management activities for complex projects or multiple systems.Develop and enforce configuration management plans, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards.Oversee configuration control boards (CCB) and change management processes.Analyze impacts of configuration changes and advise stakeholders on risk and compliance.Manage and optimize configuration management tools and databases for accurate tracking and reporting.Conduct root cause analysis of configuration issues and implement corrective actions.Mentor and guide junior and intermediate configuration management staff.Collaborate with project managers, development, and operations teams to integrate configuration management practices throughout the project life-cycle.Stay updated on emerging tools, standards, and best practices in configuration management.SKILLS & ABILITIESMinimum of three (3) years and has a deep understanding of/or experience with:Configuration management principles and best practicesConfiguration baselines and version controlConfiguration control boards and change review processesRisk assessment related to configuration changesImpact assessment and root cause analysisConfiguring and optimizing configuration management toolsUnix/Linux command-line proficiency, desiredWindows server and patch management, desiredBasic scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), desiredVersion control (CMPRO, GitLab, Jenkins), desiredDoD software fielding and accreditation, desiredTwo (2) to three (3) years' experience with US Navy Combat Systems in at least one aspect (I.e., design, development, integration, operation, test, analysis, etc.), desiredEDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONSGED and/or equivalent years of experienceTYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS General office environmentComputer/Equipment lab PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMay be expected to lift up to 25 lbsFrequent use of keyboard and typingFrequent sitting and standingWORK SCHEDULE9/80The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.PAY RANGE$100,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually, DOEU.S. Citizenship is RequiredSECURITY CLEARANCECandidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score).
