Technician

The position of Service Technician is responsible for providing technical inspection, repair and service of safety equipment and resources.  He or she will uphold safe work practices and maintain compliance with company, customer, and federal regulations. Their expertise will be put to practice to solve problems and execute business and personal objectives.

The Service Technician position is responsible for informing the Sales Manager of issues related to their assigned duties.

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor. DUTIES:

• Adheres to the Company’s Health and Safety Program.
• Test the flow of respirators.
• Perform hydrostatic testing of SCBA bottles.
• Maintain company truck and trailer.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory.
• Ensure all operational documents are completed, accurate and on time, including daily reports.
• Communicate with customers.
• Adhere to strict schedules and communicate any changes with management.
• Ensure the company meets service standards in accordance with company, customer, and industry expectations.
• Submit weekly per diem.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Be able to operate a computer to perform daily work activities, with an understanding of basic computer software (MS Word, MS Excel) and the ability to grasp new software within reasonable time frames.
• Ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and heights, bend, stoop, stretch, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness and ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to, respirators, safety shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats.
• Have vision correctable to 20/20 for inspection activities.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) daily.
• Ability to pass a company required physical examination.
• Have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and drive a commercial motor vehicle (trucks towing equipment trailers).
• Availability to work overtime hours.
• Availability to travel approximately 80-100% of the time with potentially including overnight stays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree from a college or technical school is preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

A minimum of 3 years of proven successful mechanical-related experience is preferred, or a combination of education and experience is required.
