Position Summary
Plans production of assigned products, maintains the production schedule, measures manufacturing output, releases jobs to manufacturing, and balances the capacity of various manufacturing resources. Leverages data analytics, statistical analysis expertise and hands-on experience using database query tools to recommend improvements in supply chain. Collaborates with colleagues to avoid bottlenecks in the manufacturing process and recommends recovery plans for missed milestones. Communicates and identifies achievable ship dates and/or delays in production to Sales and Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the production schedule to satisfy customer demand and optimize capacity and inventory levels.
- Analyze demand profiles for multiple business units and product families.
- Utilize Epicor ERP system to extract and analyze supply chain data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to drive process improvements.
- Manage the process of expedited orders by facilitating communication between responsible departments.
- Actively monitor and level workload with capacity constraints at the resource level.
- Work with Production Supervisors to manage short term/long term capacities to minimize past due orders.
- Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering in order to assess supply chain requirements.
- Release and track manufacturing jobs to ensure compliance to the daily schedule and identify/escalate issues that prevent its successful execution.
- Review engineering changes and deficient material reports to ensure components and assemblies are correctly manufactured to the latest revision.
- Create and print job packs from ERP outputs for use by the floor as required.
- Maintain finished goods at predetermined levels for optimal customer service.
- Use analytical tools and metrics to assist in problem identification, corrective action development, and decision making.
- Continuously identify innovative ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize machine utilization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline that emphasizes analytics such as supply chain, logistics, engineering, mathematics, etc.
- Exceptional skills in developing queries, performing analysis, and converting data into informative insights.
- Exposure to or experience with production planning using systems such as Epicor, SAP, MAPICS or the equivalent.
- Understanding business processes and using planning tools to optimize production.
- Strong analytic background and proficiency in Excel.
- Self-motivated and proactive with strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision as an individual contributor and as a member of cross-functional team.
