Are you dependable, observant, and looking for a rewarding way to support residents in a long-term care setting? Tacoma Nursing & Rehabilitation, proudly rated 5 stars by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), is hiring a Smoking Monitor. In this role, you’ll ensure resident safety during scheduled smoke breaks in our designated area and provide additional support around the facility with 1:1 supervision and other assigned duties.
Description of Duties:
Assisting residents to the smoking area as needed
Validating smoking materials are not left unattended in the ashtrays
Ensuring smoking apron is placed appropriately on the residents and on at all times
Ensuring safe smoking protocols are followed at all times
Visit with residents on a 1:1 basis as needed
Recognizes abnormal signs and symptoms that signify a physical change in condition of resident which might require nursing intervention.
Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for purpose of assistance in transporting residents to and from general activity areas.
Is aware of conditions that may interfere with the safety and well-being of residents involved in activity pursuits. Reports hazardous conditions immediately.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to stand on your feet for the majority of the shift.
Must be able to tolerate the smell of cigarette smoke.
