Local CDL Class A Driver

Tacoma Glass - Burlington is looking for a Class A Local Delivery Driver with exceptional customer service skills and a desire to be part of a winning team. Tacoma Glass is a custom glass manufacturer in business providing fabricated glass lites, units, shower doors, etc. to the local residential and commercial community.

Job Description:

Class A CDL Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of glass products to a variety of customers in the Puget Sound area.

Requirements:

· Properly load truck to minimize product damage and to efficiently offload at customer location. Verify correct product, quality and quantity.

· Accurately maintain paperwork for deliveries, COD payments and customer/vendor pick-ups.

· Communicate effectively both written and verbally with customers, peers and management

· Customer service oriented

· Ability to operate forklift to load/unload flatbed and in warehouse

· Professionally represent Tacoma Glass while driving and at customer/vendor locations

· Perform vehicle pre-trip and post trip inspections

· Washington State Driver’s License with a clean MVR (5-year history)

· Maintain Class A CDL with current medical card (not except interstate)

· Familiarity with Puget Sound and ability to use GPS

· Experience driving truck and trailer combinations, ability to back up and maneuver tight locations

· Always follow safety procedures to protect self, peers, customers, inventory and property

· Performing warehouse duties and other tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to tow and back trailers up to 22’ in length

· Ability to lift 20-40 pounds often and 100 pounds occasionally

· Ability to climb in and out of truck and cargo area multiple times per day. Secure and warp loads.

· Ability to walk, stand, climb, and sit intermittently throughout day for duration of the shift

Work Experience:

· 1-year CDL Class A commercial driver experience

· Forklift experience for loading and unloading flatbed

· Experience handling glass or other sheet goods preferred but not required

Job Type:

Full Time, Monday-Friday 6:00AM-until route complete, overtime as necessary.
