We are a full-service, multi-doctor equine veterinary practice serving South Puget Sound. Our team provides ambulatory and in-clinic care for horses of all disciplines, including 24/7 emergency services. Every day brings something different, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and hands-on work.

What You'll Do

Working alongside our veterinarians, you'll help provide exceptional care to horses in both the field and clinic. Responsibilities include:

  • Safely handling and restraining horses for examinations and procedures
  • Jogging and longeing horses for lameness evaluations
  • Assisting with radiographs, diagnostics, elective surgeries, and other procedures
  • Preparing and stocking veterinary trucks, equipment, and supplies
  • Driving to farm calls and assisting with ambulatory appointments
  • Maintaining equipment, facilities, and inventory
  • Providing friendly, professional service to clients
  • Supporting the veterinary team wherever needed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, adaptable, eager to learn, and passionate about horses.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong horse handling experience (through work, ownership, or competition)
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to jog horses, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Veterinary experience is preferred but not required. We're happy to train the right candidate with excellent horse experience, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

Pay & Benefits

Pay

  • Assistant Level 1: $18.90–$21.00/hour
  • Assistant Level 2: $21.00–$23.10/hour

Starting pay is based on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Finding the right people is more important to us than fitting everyone into the same schedule.

  • Preferred: Two part-time Veterinary Assistants to help cover Monday through Thursday
  • Part-time schedule: Any combination of Monday-Thursday, approximately 9 hours per day starting at 8:45am
  • Also open to: Hiring one full-time Veterinary Assistant for the right candidate
