Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems to process sales quickly and accurately, including cash, credit, and mobile payments
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, including balancing registers at shift end and managing cash, checks, or credit transactions securely
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Restock shelves, merchandise displays, and assist with stocking to ensure the store remains organized and inviting
- Apply basic retail math skills to calculate discounts, totals, and change efficiently during transactions
- Demonstrate strong communication skills by effectively engaging with customers and team members in a bilingual environment if applicable
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is advantageous
- Supervising experience in retail or customer service roles is a plus, demonstrating leadership qualities and team collaboration skills
- Experience conducting product demos or upselling techniques to enhance customer engagement and sales performance
- Strong phone etiquette skills for handling inquiries professionally over the phone or in person
