Position Summary

The Warehouse Summer Hire applies their educational experience in a real world setting with Taco’s Warehouse team. They largely support the members of the warehouse team to help meet company goals. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to the team in various projects and tasks related shipping, receiving, and inventory movement.  

Measures of success:

• Support work to further develop inventory accuracy
• Update and create workflow documents
• Organize areas to be in line with 5S pillars (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)

Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Gains hands-on knowledge in several warehouse departments, rotating time among order fulfillment, shipping, operations and inventory control
• Documents work process and procedures
• Works on special projects with mentor support
• Performs warehouse functions including packing, picking and inventory control as necessary

Qualifications

Required:

• Junior or Senior enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Management or Supply Chain
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Basic statistical analysis techniques preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment
• Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to adhering to safety protocols

Work Environment:

This position works in both an office environment using computers and technology as well as the production floor where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Verbal and auditory capability are required, and safety gear is required in production areas.

This is an onsite position that will require reporting into the building every day.

Management:

This position has no direct reports.
